About Penticton !

Penticton is situated in the Okanagan Valley , between Okanagan Lake to its north and Skaha Lake to the south - a four season destination for vacationers and business travellers alike. Cradled within tree trimmed mountain slopes, dramatic cliffs, and bordered by two pristine lakes, Penticton offers her natural beauty all year round. The semi arid desert climate provides more than 2000 hours of sunshine each year to complement the myriad of cultural activities, international events, regional festivals, business conventions and good old fashioned relaxation. Come and explore Penticton , "a place to stay forever."

Our area of the Okanagan Valley has it all including around 40 wineries and 20 golf courses nearby. Summer months enjoy hot sunshine, warm water, sandy beaches, hiking, biking, ecological reserves, great restaurants, great scenery, and nearby shopping. In winter, excellent down hill and cross country skiing trails are close by at Apex Mountain Resort .

Lake Okanagan ~ The Largest of a chain of five lakes in the Thompson-Okanagan region, Lake Okanagan supports a variety of activities from House Boating to Waterskiing. Fishing is also a popular pastime with water full of Rainbow Trout, Carp and Ling Cod. Be careful of the Ogopogo - The Lochness monster on the Lake Okanagan . With water temperature that reaches 24 degrees Celsius in the summer, and 320 Km (100 Miles) of Shoreline, visitors should not forget their swim suits.

Skaha Lake ~ The Okanagan's fourth in the chain of five major lakes, Lake Skaha is one of the region's warmest body of water, and thus the major tourist draw to the area. Its large sandy beaches attract sunbathers and its winds entice wind surfers to flood the area in the summer. The lake is also used for boat cruises and dragon boat races. Lake Skaha is fed by Okanagan Lake to its north through a body of water called the canal, also a well known activity while in Penticton .
